The Koogeek Smart Plug was an amazing purchase. It allows you to control whatever is plugged into it from anywhere in your home at anytime. The free app is very user-friendly and easy to set up. The only downside is that you have to be connected to the wifi to use it so it cannot be used on the go. The upside to this problem is the schedules system!

Worked flawlessly. Extremely impressed at the IOS integration.

Just got mine to today and quickly set up. I'm replacing all of my WeMo insight outlets with these. It's well worth it just for the HomeKit integration, but these are a little cheaper, have a bit smaller of a footprint and don't "boot up" like the WeMo switches when unplugged and plugged back in.

  • By M******January 11, 2018 23:22:39

Worked perfectly! Plugged it in, downloaded the app, took a pic of the HomeKit number in the manual, gave it a name, assigned it to a room, and done. Zero problems. Even shows the watts used in the app.

Easy to install and as described. Works fine with HomeKit.

    Works great

Really good and affordable entry into the smart home world. I was looking for a inexpensive way to make my room "smart." I bought a couple of these with low expectations but they have far exceeded them. The set up was a little frustrating but I've heard that they have fixed this issues with iOS 10. Once i finally got everything set up, it worked perfectly. A few months on, still no problems at all. They have remained connected to the wifi and always available on my phone. It's great being able to use Siri and my iPhone to turn lights and fans on and off. The one thing that i would critique is that the plug emits a faint high pitch noise that I can sometimes hear if my room is totally quite. Otherwise you can't really hear it. I have mine next to a fan and behind a dresser so i don't notice it anymore but if you were to put one next to your bed it might be audible.

Easy set up with homekit. I have it set up on a work bench light. Very nice to have Siri turn on the light when your hands are full with using "hey Siri".

  • By C*************January 6, 2018 20:17:08

Setup took literally seconds on my iPhone. Plugged it in, scanned the sticker on the packaging in the Home app, and it was connected and working. You can give the outlet a more descriptive name so you can use Siri more naturally with it. For example if it's connected to a lamp rename it "Lamp" in the Home app and you can ask Siri to "turn on the lamp" rather than "turn on the outlet" or whatever. Didn't bother trying Koogeek's actual app. There's really no need with the excellent Home app now built into iOS 10.

  • By B**************January 5, 2018 23:26:40

    Worked as expected with HomeKit.

  • By J*********January 5, 2018 01:57:15

Awesome product. Easy setup with homekit on apple. Already bought another one for Christmas lights and such.

  • By F**January 3, 2018 22:27:48

Works fine, although I had trouble using the koogeek app and it only worked for me by connecting directly with HomeKit (available on Apple iOS devices only). This thing is large and, if you're plugging it into a standard US double socket you'll have trouble using that socket for anything else. However, I can turn my Christmas tree lights on and off without trying to fit behind the sofa to get to the outlet, so it's a win!

I’ve been using wifi outlets since last few years but this is first time I’ve used an outlet which has integration with Apple home kit. Now I can command Siri to turn environment for living room on and off remotely. You will need to install an free application “Koogeek” in order it to be detected by Happy Home Kit. You can also create scenes if you have multiple of these products. Setup is quiet easy. It just works out of the box. I was able to set this up in two minutes without even reading the instruction booklet. Personally, I am using it with my glass closet and a lamp in my living room. Best part I like about this I can command Siri to turn it on/off for me. The outlet is not bulky like other available in market and seems like made with quality material. It is light weight and easy to install. You can easily control, monitor and even schedule devices within the range of home wifi network. It also has a manual button on outlet itself in case network is not available or not working. Positives: - Neat and Easy Setup - Works flawless - Accepts Siri Commands - Works with Apple Home Kit - Small Size & not bulky - Comes with 18 month warranty - Made with quality material. Negatives: - None I could see so far Improvement needed - Works only with 2.5Ghz wifi network, 5.0Ghz is not supported Although 5.0Ghz wifi speed is not supported by this outlet, but most modems support multiple speeds and provides you capability to generate two different home networks with different ranges. I highly recommend buying this if you are looking for one.

It definitely works with your mobile device app for Koogeek and saves energy.

  • By *******************April 27, 2017 18:59:51

This is going to sound weird but I love this little device. It is so neat to be able to use Siri with it. Right now I have a lamp plugged into it. My husband came home and wondered what I had plugged in the wall outlet. I said, “Watch this” and told Siri to turn on the lamp and she did it. He thought it was pretty cool as did I. Honestly the possibilities are endless as to what you could do with this smart plug but personally I wouldn’t recommend plugging anything too expensive into it as it is not a surge protector. It was super easy to setup. Be sure to download the “Koogeek Home” app from the app store. It took less than five minutes to get it set up and useable after installing the app and registering. Be sure to not through away the instruction manual as it has a code that you need inside of it. There is a way to set up a “scene” inside the app. When setting up a scene you can program one or more of these smart plugs to activate or turn things off just by saying a command like “I’m leaving” to Siri. For example. if you had three of these plugs and had a lamp, a radio, and a coffee maker plugged into them, you could add all three of them to the “I’m home” scene. When you tell Siri “I’m home” she will turn all three of them on for you (or off if that is how you programmed it). You could have coffee brewing, soft music playing, and a lamp to see by when you walk through the door. A reverse situation might be that you were running late and forgot to turn off the coffee maker, you could tell Siri “Turn off the coffee maker (if that is how you programmed it) or have her shut off all three if you programmed the scene “I’m leaving”. You can also change the scene names. If you prefer “Rise and Shine” to “Good Morning” or instead of “Good Night” you would rather say “The night is dark and full of terrors,” you can change it to whatever you like. You can also ‘invite’ people in the ‘User management settings’ so that they can control the devices as well from their phones. This comes in handy if you would like other members of your family be able to control the items as well. The invitees only need to have an iCloud account to be invited. One last thing, you can monitor energy consumption through the app as well. Whatever you have plugged into the smart plug will show the wattage usage so you can see just how energy efficient certain items are and how they may affect your energy bill. All in all I could play with this smart plug all day. It is really cool. Disclaimer: This product was provided to me either free or at a discounted rate for reviewing purposes. I am not affiliated with this company and make no promises of a good rating while reviewing the product. I test the product thoroughly and do my best to provide detailed reviews to other Amazon customers so they may make informed decisions.

The Koogeek WiFi outlet switch is a great first step into home automation. When you plug a device into it, it will allow you to control it via a free app that is available for iOS devices. You can be at home or anywhere in the world and control the outlet as long as you have an internet connection. Since it supports Apple HomeKit, you can even control it via Siri with your voice or with a swipe down from the top of your phone which saves a lot of time versus having to unlock the phone and open up the app. Setup is very simple. You just download the app, find the outlet device, and then enter your wireless credentials. The outlet will connect to whatever wireless network your phone is currently on, so if you have a 5GHz network make sure to connect to the 2.4GHz one first (this device does not support 5GHz networks). That's all there is to it and you can then begin turning your outlet on or off. Response time is very quick, at around a second or so. I like how you can also schedule the outlet to turn on or off at certain times, or even certain days. Overall, this is a great product that works very well and is extremely easy to setup. This product was provided as a sample for my review. These opinions are solely mine and are unbiased and honest and not influenced in any way by the seller.

The Koogeek Smart Plug is a quality device allowing you to connect an electronic device and remotely control and monitor its usage through your home wi-fi via an Apple device (iPhone, iPod Touch, Apple Watch - no Android support). Of note, the wi-fi only supports 2.4GHz; no 5GHz support. If you have a third-generation Apple TV, you can control your device from anywhere via Siri commands, using iCloud. Pairing the smart plug with your Apple device is quick and painless - just point the camera at the number code and it pairs almost instantly. After downloading the Koogeek Home app, operation and use is extremely smooth and responsive. You can view power usage, set timers/schedules, and monitor the plug and it's connected device's power state. Extremely useful product to have if you have any electronic device that you wish to keep an eye on and have quick remote access to.

this is my first smart outlet and I have to say that thing is the bees knees. This thing is really cool. So far i only got it to work while at home using the app and Siri but it works flawlessly once you add the device to the app. I'm not sure if you need to stay on wifi or not for it to work but It works with my fan, a lamp and my Xbox one so far I can't wait to try it on other things! You can use this thing to turn on as a timer on a certain time. i like that I can get multiple of these around and have them turn on a lamp or two through my app and Siri. I would definitely get this again! I highly recommend it. You don't even need to be tech savvy to learn how to use this thing it's really easy to use and user friendly which I really like.

There are a lot of smart plugs on the market these days and the market is starting to saturate for Apple Home Kit comparable devices. On the MacSources test bench, today is a smart plug offering from Koogeek. The first thing I noticed about this plug is its sleek design. While this is not a necessary attribute for a functional smart plug, some users may appreciate this if the plug will be in a visible area. The plug is white and curvy, with a recessed power button on top. The only other markings are the Koogeek branding on the front of the plug. This smart plug is current in beta, so the app and associated HomeKit functionality are not yet available in the app store. MacSources was provided a beta tester link in other to install the Koogeek Home app and test the device. Even in beta mode, the install was pretty easy. Just download the app, provide access to your HomeKit data and add the device manually or by scanning the HomeKit code in the product documentation. What I really liked about this smart plug compared to others that I have tested, is the clean and intuitive interface of the companion app. You get a simple list of all of your devices, with an on /off switch. If you enter the setting are of a specific plug, you get a virtual representation of a physical looking on / off switch as well as timer settings, current power consumption and a graph showing power usage over time. In my tests, the plug performed as expected; turning a light on and off. It was very responsive and I did not observe any delays which can sometimes happen with connected devices. The timer function also worked well and was easy to setup. All in all, the smart plug by Koogeek is a solid product that holds it’s own in a sea of competitors. The stand out feature for me is the slick interface and ease of operation. "This product was received at a free or discounted price in exchange for my review. I love it. I am using this with HomeKit to turn my low voltage landscape lighting on/off on a schedule, plus I can turn it on/off at will as well. I had a small issue with wifi, as the lighting transformer box is a solid stainless steel box, essentially a faraday cage (not at all the fault of the plug). But I made a simple passive repeater with 2 antennas that allows signal in to the box and it's all working awesome!
